Bertran de Born-- French baron and troubadour, early to mid forties, very
energetic. He's well dressed and takes care with his appearance.
William Marshal-- Loyal English knight, in his mid forties, muscular, and full of vigor.
Geoffrey, the Bastard-- King Henry's devoted illegitimate son, in his mid thirties.
King Henry -- Henry is the king of the English, and duke of over half the French
lands. Handsome and stocky. Dresses simply and with practicality. In his early
fifties. Vigorous, but showing signs of age.
Richard Plantagenet-- Son of old King Henry and Eleanore of Aquitaine. Early
thirties. Extremely handsome, tall and blonde. Muscular and energetic.
Notably vain. Dresses well to the point of ostentation.
Philip Capet-- King of the French. Early to mid twenties. Attractive in a
subtle way, tall and slender, yet unconcerned with his appearance. Dresses
simply.
Eleanore of Aquitaine-- Henry's wife. Queen of England and former Queen of
France. Richard's mother. Formerly a great beauty, she is still very
attractive, elegant and well dressed, and looks much younger than her age,
which is in the mid sixties. She is overly devoted to her son Richard.
Leopold, Duke of Austria-- Proud and impatient, he is somewhere in his thirties.
Tancred, King of Sicily--With a whiff of the exoticism about him, he is
clearly capable clever and ruthless. His age is somewhere in his forties and
has been described as resembling a small monkey.
John Lackland-- Henry and Eleanore's youngest son, and Richard's little
brother. He is extremely clever, but he lacks Richard's charisma. He
dresses well, is in his twenties, close in age to King Philip. Also known as
the Count of Mortain.
Mercadier-- A mercenary soldier who works for Richard. He is tall, strong,
and rough in appearance, almost like a thug. He clearly respects his
superiors. He is somewhere in his thirties.
Milo the Abbot-- An older man. Priest.
The Lad--In his mid to late teens. He comes from the petty nobility. Strong
and brave, but appears in humble dress.
