Clare Martin took over as Chief Minister of the Northern Territory last April -- the first Labor leader to take power in the Territory's entire 26 years of self-government. Clare is the first woman Chief Minister in the NT in what has been a very rough and tough political environment. Her topic, "Are there women politicians, or just politicians" is an opportunity to discuss whether women bring special skills to politics: a more consensual style, an ability to see problems from more perspectives. It is also an opportunity to discuss the style of NT politics, and how the Martin Government is changing the political culture.
