Kerry Nettle

Kerry Nettle will be the new Greens Senator for NSW in the Federal Parliament from July 2002. Kerry brings an experienced and powerful youth voice to Green politics. Kerry has worked as a youth worker in western Sydney, studied as an Environmental Scientist and is a passionate campaigner for human rights, peace in Central Asia, and better funding of public services.

Kerry is strongly committed to social justice and equity for all people. She believes we need a well funded public education system and politicians who are committed to the community not the corporate dollar.

In 2000, Kerry lived and worked in East Timor, teaching English and computer skills to women on a volunteer basis. Kerry was a media spokesperson at the Jabiluka Uranium Mine Blockade in Kakadu National Park for 4 months. Kerry has been an enthusiastic and effective public transport campaigner for many years.
