Kerrie Tucker

In March 1995 Kerrie Tucker was elected as a Member for Molonglo in the ACT Legislative Assembly representing the ACT Greens. She was re-elected in 1998 and 2001.

She is currently the Chair of the Assembly's Standing Committee on Health. In previous Assembly's she was the Chair of the Standing Committee on Education and Community Services and Standing Committee on Social Policy. In addition, she has served on a number of Select Committees, eg the estimates committee and inquiries into gambling, public housing and superannuation funding. She has also put forward a number of Private Members Bills and motions in the areas of environment protection, planning and social issues.

Outside of the Assembly, Kerrie is an environmentalist, an artist, a gardener and a mother of three.

Before her election to the ACT Legislative Assembly, Kerrie was an editor and librarian at the Canberra Environment Centre. Kerrie has been involved in community organisations for many years, covering areas such as early childhood, education and the environment, while raising her children. Before she married and settled in this region, she travelled extensively for several years working in various European countries.
