Logging On
In order to log on to the Women's
History Month chat, you need to enter a unique nickname and click the
Connect button. The other fields on the window are not required.
Changing Your Nickname
If you log on with a nickname that has already been registered
on the chat server, you will receive a message instructing you to change it,
as illustrated below.
To change your nickname, in the text box near the bottom
of the window, type /Nick NewNickName, substituting the name you wish
to choose for 'NewNickName'. Note that while you cannot use spaces in the nickname,
you can add numbers to the end of the original nickname to make it unique.
If do not change your nickname after receiving notice that
it has already been registered, the Chat software will automatically change
it to 'guest' followed by a number, as illustrated below.
You will remain logged into the chat as 'guestxxxx' until you change it to
an unregistered name as explained above.
